The Kidderminster Golf Club

KGC Record Decisive Win In Annual Fixture

Another win for Kidderminster

Every year Kidderminster and Stourbridge play a Jubilee competition over two days. The format is Fourball Better Ball Medal (90% handicap). We play for the prestigious Vivian Moore Challenge Bowl presented by Mr A Vivian Moore in 1926 to Stourbridge and Kidderminster Golf Clubs in commemoration of 35 happy golfing years 1891-1926. Reviewing the trophy, it was an individual competition until 1982 when it became a team/club competition.

The challenge bowl has been in Stourbridge’s trophy cabinet the last two years but I am delighted to inform members that we thumped them this year! The winning margin was 54 points with the best winning score of 119 points by Andrew Cavendish and Matt Edwards, closely followed by Byron Hickman & Paul Nunn with 120 and also Alex Lockett & Jack Churchill on 120. Top 12 best scores for Stourbridge was 1551 and Kidderminster a glorious 1497. Well done boys – the best scoring for many a year.

Finally, a thank you to both Offices Craig and Mark for their liaison and to both Pro Shops, Pat and Mark for the organisation on the day.
