The Kidderminster Golf Club

Four Counties Tournament

Kidderminster Golf Club played host to the 37th Annual Tournament between Past Captains from Worcestershire, Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire and Norfolk. The teams consist of 6 pairs playing a Betterball Stableford from the White Tees, 90% handicap reduction. The 5 best cards for each team are used to determine the winners, the 6th card is used if scores are tied.

Kidderminster were represented by Kevin Woodham the Worcestershire Captain; Will Painter the KGC Captain and John Holt. Will Painter and his partner John Eastoe (the Vale GC) recorded the best score of the day, an impressive 43 points. Kevin Woodham and Andy Lammas (Bransford GC) 36 points; John Holt and Roger Whiteman (Droitwich GC) 35 points.

The five Worcestershire scores totalled 188 points which was enough to win the trophy by 13 points from second placed Hertfordshire on 175 points.

On behalf of Worcestershire Captains I would like thank the Board Of Directors for allowing us to host the tournament, to congratulate all the staff for the professional, courteous and friendly manner in which they carried out their respective roles thus ensuring all the participants had an enjoyable day. The comments mentioned above have been echoed by many of the visitors both verbally and in writing.

I think it is fair to say that Will, John and I were extremely proud of the way in which our Club hosted the event.

Many Thanks

Kevin Woodham

Captain – Worcestershire Golf Club Captains.
